⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ R62As on the "7 Ash" Garbage Train at Times Square

Every night, the "7 Ash" garbage train comes out of Corona Yard to pick up garbage on the Flushing, Astoria, and northern section on the BMT Broadway Line. The "7 Ash" naming stems from the historic use of work trains to pick up ash from coal-fired station heating stoves each night. In the summertime, R62As are used to make up some of the motive power for this train, as they have air conditioning to keep the crews cool. Enjoy!
