Online Session with Prof. Dr. Jamie L. Gloor
Given its increasing prominence and relevance as a framework to better understand the experiences of our increasingly diverse workforce, we will explore a brief history of intersectionality theory and research. We will then apply this idea using examples from Dr. Gloor's award-winning research in Switzerland on the «maybe baby» effect: the idea that the combination of gender, age, and parenthood better predicts female professionals' perceived hiring/promotion potential and employment experiences than either of these characteristics alone. Finally, we will close with some concrete considerations for various stakeholders including employees, HR professionals, and leaders.
