What are the F1 through F12 keys
You may be surprised that why there are so many function keys at the top of your keyboard. Generally, the function keys are labeled with F1 to F12 numbers. These function keys help us to speed up our work by using the shortcut F keys. Let’s see some basic use of F keys.
F1
1. Press the F1 key to open the help of an opened program.
2. Press the Alt+Shift+F1 key to create a new worksheet in Excel.
F2
1. If you want to rename a file, then select it in Window and press the F2 key. Now, you can easily rename the file.
2. To edit the active cell quickly, press the F2 key.
F3
1. In the File Explorer, use the F3 key to start the search.
2. Press the Shift+F3 key in Microsoft Word to change the text from lowercase to Capital letter or Upper case.
F4
1. Press the F4 key in the File Explorer window to open the address bar.
2. If you will use the Alt+F4 key together then it closes the currently active program in Windows.
F5
1. If you want to reload a website in an opened web browser then press F5 Key.
2. Press the F5 key in Microsoft Word to open the Find and Replace window.
F6
1. Use the F6 key to open the address bar in a web browser.
2. To toggle in between your opened multiple Word documents, Press the Ctrl+Shift+F6 key.
F7
1. Press the F7 key in Microsoft word to open the Spelling and Grammer check window.
2. To turn on Caret Browsing in the Google Chrome web browser, press the F7 key.
F8
1. Use the F8 key to start Windows in Safe Mode.
F9
1. Press the F9 key to refresh a Microsoft Word document.
F10
1. When you press the F10 key then it will activate the menu bar of an opened program in Windows.
F11
1. Press the F11 key to enter or exit from a fullscreen mode in a web browser.
F12
1. Press the F12 key to open developer tools in Google Chrome.
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+F12 to print a document in Microsoft Word.
