Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and a RECO gate light.
After catching F785 in Waterloo, I was able to successfully beat him to this crossing on US 221 just outside of the community of Maddens, SC. He we see the train once more before it reaches Laurens.
This crossing is a fairly nice one, featuring a nice early-90s CSX install that's still largely original as well. Unlike the last one, this one has had both gate arms replaced and most of the gate lights at it are LED now. However, the middle gate light on the closer signal is still the original RECO incandescent, which is nice to see. The WCH mechanical bell here sounds a bit rough, especially when compared to the last one, but still sounds fairly decent overall. The gate lights do need some work here, however, as the tip gate light on the closer signal appears to be dead and the two flashing ones on the far signal are mis-wired and flash together as a result. Hopefully the 90s equipment here remains around for a good while longer, but either way, I'm glad I was able to record these older CSX signals as well.
