You might be surprised by the cost (and size) of these hearing aids. With a 23.8" visible area, an incredibly small bezel, and projected capacitive touch with a resolution of 4096x4096, the P2418HT is a fairly standard IPS panel. Artists and designers that want that tight control when working right on the screen should find it highly appealing as a result. It supports 10-point touch gestures like swiping, pinch-to-zoom, and two-handed/multi-finger usage. It does not appear to be pressure-sensitive like the most recent iOS products, as far as we can determine. Versions 7, 8.1, and 10 of Windows should operate plug-and-play for users.
For all of its newest displays, Dell has now committed to packing free of foam. Our sample came in a sturdy, clamshell-style box. The accessory tray includes a high-quality DisplayPort, USB 3.0, and VGA cable as well as an IEC power cord. A CD with supporting software and a quick start guide is also included. For our PC to support touch input, no drivers needed to be installed. A sturdy stand is essential for any desktop-based touchscreen, and Dell has successfully achieved this. To allow the panel to extend to the desk surface, the upright hinges about one-third of the way up. Although it won't be nearly as flat as NEC's E232WMT, it's still a good angle for drawing. There is one DisplayPort, one HDMI, and one VGA input on the input panel. There are 3.5mm analog outputs for powered speakers or headphones in place of the absence of built-in speakers. If you prefer a more integrated design, Dell sells a small soundbar that mounts to the bottom of the display for an extra fee. The USB hub has two downstream ports and one upstream port that support version 3.0. Version 2.0 has two more outputs. One of them enables charging even while the P2418HT is turned off.
