The Brickhouse Security Spark Nano 7 is a GPS tracker that features 4G LTE connectivity, making it suitable for live tracking. This is built especially for vehicles and valuables but could also be used for keeping track of a child or wayward elderly relative.
Since this tracker relies on the 4G connection, you will need to factor in the cost of a subscription on top of the unit's price. But with alerts setup, you may find this isn't required for use regularly, something which helps extend battery life.
The optional magnetic case makes this easy to affix to a vehicle, out of sight, so you can get peace of mind knowing it can be tracked should you need to. As such, we recommend this in our list of the best personal GPS trackers. If you ask my personal opinion, I would say The accuracy is almost perfect - it's not an exact location, but if you zoom in and pay attention to the landmarks, you will find what you are looking for. You can also see movement on the map. Another thing I thought was helpful was the tutorials on the company website. They help a lot with understanding how to use the device and set up your settings. So far, for me, it has been worth the money.
The SafeTrack by Prime Tracking is a real-time tracking device. It's one of the most significant physical size devices we tested. It's roughly the size of two tic-tac boxes stacked on top of another. A series of LEDs are on the front of the device and a button. On the side is a USB-C port used to charge the battery that should last around two weeks of typical use.
You can set multiple geofences and receive alerts when the tracker has left or arrived at one of those locations. The SafeTrack website you use to adjust settings and view the tracker's location has a long list of notification triggers -- and it reminds me more of a tool that an enterprise user would use to track a fleet of vehicles or employees and not a kid.
Speaking of which, Prime Tracking does have an adapter that plugs into a car's OBD2 port. The SafeTrack is a device I can see putting in luggage or hiding in your car to help track it if it ever gets stolen, but between its size and monthly cost, it's not something I'd recommend using to track a child.
The Cube Pro is one of our favorite locating devices. We love the settings and modes that the Pro offers, and during our noise analysis, we found it to be one of the most audible of all the Bluetooth models we tested. It has the option for disconnect notifications so that you'll know if you ever walk out of the house without your keys. The Cube app is top-notch, and they offer a desktop user interface that allows you to ring the device from a computer even if you aren't near your phone. We were also really impressed with its range when we took it into the field. We managed to stand 366 feet away from the device before the signal dropped. This particular model is also waterproof to a rating of IP67, which means that it can be submerged in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes. One of our favorite features of this tag, along with other Cube products, is how seamlessly they function with Alexa. The Cube Pro is one of the most expensive key finders we've seen — especially considering that the package only includes one device. It is also one of the heaviest models that we tested and will definitely bulk out your keyring. Bluetooth versions have many advantages, but they can also be kind of a pain.
