The shark-toothed dinosaurs are an odd group. At this point there are a few really good specimens with a lot of their anatomy preserved, but there are a ton of them known from just fragments. I mean, the one for which the group is named, Carcharodontosaurus, is extremely fragmentary itself. Each new good one helps to better round out the idea of what the hell these mega-carnivores looked like. A brand new one with some unique features was just published and offers one of the best specimens of the shark-toothed critters discovered in quite some time. Come with me and meet Meraxes!
