They drove into flood waters and the car floated away

When two people drove their car into record-breaking flash flooding in Columbia, South Carolina on July 4, 2022, storm chaser Chris Jackson was there with his camera.

Jackson was recording as he also called 911 to ask the Columbia Fire Department to help the two motorists, who were floating away in flood waters from the Rocky Branch Creek.

The two people were able to get out of their car and to safety.

Chris Jackson called into live severe weather coverage on the Carolina Weather Group's Carolina Weather Net to discuss what he saw and the ongoing flooding in Columbia.
