The Arctic Queen (Arctic King) air conditioner has developed a liquid sound. My speculation is water has somehow accumulated in the evaporator chamber and is being kicked up by the fan. It's largely inconsequential as this unit is set to be replaced by a proper vintage one very soon, but still somewhat intriguing.
