Jessica Greene (she/her) planting trees with code at Ecosia, community leader with PyLadies Berlin. Former coffee roaster and Camera assistant.

The talk:
At ecosia we work towards a better planet with every search but we want to go further to enable our users to make sustainable and informed decisions. The green consumption assistant (gca) is a project between Ecosia, Berlin TU and the Berlin Hochschule fur Technik one of goals is to work towards open source sustainabilty data for products that Ecosia can use practically to show its users sustainable options on our shopping vertical. In this talk I'll discuss how we've approached this, the challenges we have faced and the learnings made. Hopefully by the end you will see why we need to advocate for more sustainabilty data and the collaborative role tech can have in the sustainabilty sector.
