Shelfer Street Railroad Crossing, Quincy, FL

*originally recorded on 3-29-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

While TA-Local was working the customers, and as they were finishing up (it appears), they pulled all the way onto the crossing while doing a switching move, so I was able to get a recording of this crossing with a train in it in this video.

This crossing is another rather nice one, and one that I first saw when I visited this area back in 2016. The signals here are a mid-70s SCL install, but in the 1980s/early-90s, CSX replaced all of the original 8 inch lights here with the current MI 12x24s. Since then, nothing too major appears to have changed here, which is rather nice to see. Both of the Safetran mechanical bells also still sound rather great and healthy, so I'm quite glad to see that as well.
Hopefully these signals remain unchanged for many more years to come.
