The aluminum variants of the iPhone lightning dock originally released alongside the iPhone 6s to match perfectly with the all new color options available for the current iPhones at the time, which was 7 years ago going WAY back to 2015.

Calling these "retro" isn't really fair UNTIL apple officially axes the lightning connector across the board, the iphone 14 may be the first iPhone to do so, but we'll just have to wait and see.
