Refurbish Yamaha P-32D Pianica Melodian - Flea Market Find (4K)

These are also called Melodica, Melodeon, Wind Instrument, etc.

I've seen these new priced between $60 and $80. We got two at a flea market for $3.50. Both work well after a thorough cleaning.

Cleaning is necessary with these because the breath used to power them carries stuff that adheres to the insides causing the keys to become stickier over time. And it's a good idea to clean one if you get it used like these.

I have used clean water only, and if there's a lot of buildup some dish soap followed by lots of rinsing. You want to ensure all the soap is gone.

Do not leave them soaking for long periods of time because the brass reeds may corrode and that will ruin them.
Take extreme care not to damage the reeds. Don't use cloth or brushes that can snag and bend them. Light finger cleaning is best.
Also be careful with the gaskets. I have not been able to find replacements.

TOOLS NEEDED:
- Medium size phillips head / cross head screw driver
