PLEASE Stop Doing This
One trend that absolutely NEEDS to stop is covering beautiful 4K displays with an ugly matte antiglare finish.
Now if your using a sub 4K display for work purposes this isn’t much of an issue and the antiglare coating could even be helpful for long hours in a bright office environment, but when I see a matte coating on an expensive pixel dense gaming monitor it makes me want to never stop vomiting, because these coatings severely harm the image clarity and vibrancy.
Plus every other device like phones, TVs, and even watches all get some form of beautiful glossy finish and I've never once in my life heard somebody say “gee you know what would make this better, a matte finish”, so if any display makers see this please at least have glossy as an option.
