Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a dying WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, a dead Safetran mechanical bell, a dying WCH mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After catching TA-West leaving Tallahassee, I chased it on up to this crossing to get a newer video of it. It seems that the track circuit around here was a bit messed-up, as the spring switch signal at the siding here to my west was showing red despite the switch being lined for the main, which is why TA-West had to stop briefly while passing. Due to this, it seems that it caused the crossing to malfunction a bit as well, not raising until a few minutes after the train had cleared and after I'd already packed-up my camera and was starting on my way to the next crossing. Bit of a shame I wasn't able to get a proper video of this crossing this time around, but I'd already recorded this guy back in 2016, and the deactivation honestly doesn't really act any differently from back then.
As mentioned above, this was another crossing I'd last recorded back in 2016. Back then, the street was still Atlanta Avenue, but since then, it appears that the city of Quincy has chosen to rename this street after the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. Google Maps still has yet to update the street name here however.
Not too much has changed here since then otherwise, with the most notable change being that sometime after my last video here, CSX replaced the gate arm on the cantilever with a newer one, and replaced all of the gate lights on it as well. Apparently the new gate arm wasn't long enough and had to have a small extension added to it, given how far from the tip the "tip" gate light is now.
The WCH bells here have unfortunately gotten a bit worse since I last filmed them, and both are definitely on their way out now. The bell on the far signal sounds a bit weaker than last time, but otherwise still sounds fairly similar. The closer bell now takes a good few swings of the hammer to get going as it should it sounds like, as it builds-up in volume on the first few swings that it does start ringing. However, once it gets going properly, it still sounds very good. Hopefully the FGAR gives these bells the tune-up that CSX clearly hadn't, but I'm glad to see they're still hanging around here, either way.
