Visual recognition systems can be used to autonomously dock an offshore access system (gangway) onto a floating landing platform. To test and optimize this feature, Bosch Rexroth has simulated this offshore situation at their inland facilities in Boxtel, the Netherlands. Two independently moving 6DOF systems represent the tip of an offshore access system and a landing platform on a ship or floating wind turbine, enabling for a variety of testing sequences.
