I bought this grinder because I wanted to have a backup and because the price was right. I have had 5 angle grinders in the last 70 years. The first was a Black & Decker 7” that I bought when I was grinding off the numerous bosses on the frame for my Harley 74 during changing it into a chopper.
This little 4 ½” grinder is a good little tool. Not the best. Still a good little tool. I like the paddle trigger. It is comfortable in my hand, light and maneuverable. It did have a problem. The cord disintegrated.
I worked my way down the stack of tools needing repairs and the B&D 4 ½” grinder came due for repair. It had deteriorated to the point it wasn’t safe to use.
Time to fix the problem.
