Minimally Invasive Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) Fusion Two-implant technique utilizing Fluoroscopy views

Please be advised that this video contains graphic footage of surgery. Dr. William “Woodie” Cross III, M.D., (Consultant, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rochester) narrates and performs a minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion surgery using two implants.

This method highlights aggressive joint decortication and preparation, strong compressive forces, and maintained stability which promotes a solid arthrodesis or fusion of the ilium to the sacrum. By bypassing the osteopenic bone of the sacral ala and engaging the dense bone of the vertebral bodies, maximal compression and stability can be achieved.
