After I finished eating supper, I went out to a crossing on the west side of Tallahassee to wait for TA-West. After a good bit of waiting, I found out TA-West had actually left much earlier than expected (I'd originally heard they got on duty at 7 PM, but apparently they started getting on duty when TA-East got back to Tallahassee before I came down), and were already getting close to Chipley. As I knew I wouldn't be able to beat them there, I hopped in my car and drove out to Marianna to wait for their return trip to Tallahassee. After a little bit of waiting, TA-West came roaring through Marianna with the HLCX GP38-2 I'd caught on TA-Local earlier leading an ex-IC&E GP40-2 (also HLCX) and one of the FGAR's SD40-2s in the flag paint scheme, all running elephant-style long-hood forwards.
Unfortunately, as TA-West was approaching, someone pulled-up to the nearby gas station with their windows rolled down and music blasting out of them, so apologies for that.
Since I last recorded this crossing back in 2016, the only notable change that appears to have occurred here was that all of the RECO LEDs that had been here were replaced with the current NEG LED gate lights. Thankfully, this early/mid-70s L&N install remains pretty much almost entirely unchanged otherwise, and I'm especially glad to see that the GRS gate mechs and WRRS bell are both still around here. Hopefully the old L&N equipment will be here for many more years to come as well.
I'm also happy to report that the old "kodachrome" US 90 shield next to this crossing still stands as well
