Signal on the right: 5 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
As TA-Local was finishing-up switching over by Shelfer Street, I decided to hop on over to this crossing to shoot it, since it was one I'd wanted to record back in 2016 (believe it or not). Shortly after I got here, I started hearing TA-Local approaching, so I quickly set-up. Here we see TA-Local on their way back to Tallahassee, having finished their work out in Quincy for the day.
This crossing is a fairly decent one, though I will admit, some might find it boring. The signals here are an early 2000s CSX install that's still largely original. It appears that the only notable change here was that sometime after 2016, CSX replaced both gate arms and the gate lights here with the current equipment.
Believe it or not, I hadn't recorded one of these early-2000s CSX installs with cantilevers that featured most of its original equipment like this, and I'd honestly wanted to get this back in 2016. I'd wanted to get one like this for a while now, but thankfully, I was finally able to record this one on this trip. Do always quite like the early-2000s CSX installs, even if they are kinda boring, so I'm glad to have been able to get these guys filmed after all these years.
