Main Street Railroad Crossing, Cypress, FL

*originally recorded on 3-28-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a GRS gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights, a Modern Industries mechanical bell, a GRS gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

TA-West had to stop and work an industry on the east side of Marianna, so I decided to set-up at this crossing in the small, unincorporated community of Cypress to record it. After a little bit of waiting, TA-West got going again and came flying through on its journey east along the P&A Sub.

This crossing is another very nice one, and was also one that I'd wanted to record back when I visited the P&A and Tallahassee Subs back in 2016, but wasn't able to at the time. The signals here were installed by the L&N back in the 1970s, it appears, but in the 1980s/early-90s, CSX replaced all of the original (I'm guessing MI 8 inch) lights with the current MI 12x24s. Since then, no major changes have occured to these signals, thankfully, though CSX did replace all of the gate arms and gate lights here sometime after my visit in 2016, it appears.
Also, the far signal actually had part of the backgrounds on two of its lights trimmed down to help accommodate the GRS gate mechanism. It's a bit hard to see in the video, but you can see it much better on the page linked below.
