Main Street (AL 36) Railroad Crossing, Hartselle, AL

*originally recorded on 3-24-22*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After eating at Freight House in Hartselle, I heard CSX Q524 call the signal at the South End Hartselle Siding, so I came up here and Zac and I set-up. Not too long after we got here, Q524 came through with an ES44AH pulling on the head-end and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU. This was our third and final catch of the day.

As you can see, there have been no major changes to this crossing since I last recorded it, thankfully. Glad to see the old L&N signal on the far side is still around with its GS Type 1.
Unfortunately, I was able to confirm that Chestnut Street, the next crossing north, has had one of the GS Type 1s at it replaced with an NEG e-bell.
