On July 12, 2022 NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope recorded video of Asteroid 6481 Tenzing moving across JWST’s tracking point. This is the first target for JWST to test it’s moving-target tracking “speed limit”. Telescope is designed to track objects moving up to 67 milliarcseconds per second. Technically this is beginning of long journey to study asteroids and comets using Webb’s equipment.
