NASA's Voyager 1 is sending mysterious data.
NASA said on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, that Voyager 1 is sending data that doesn't match the spacecraft's movements.
The probe is still operating properly, but readouts from its attitude articulation and control system don't seem to match the spacecraft's movements and orientation.
Is the spacecraft confused about its location in space or are there other factors at play?
Voyager 1 was launched in 1977 and is heading out of the solar system. Its sister spacecraft, Voyager 2 is behaving normally.
NASA is continuing to investigate the issue.
