Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, NEG LED gate lights, and a RECO LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
This was the third train that I caught, a southbound coal train (I believe heading for Florida) with an ET44AH leading an AC44CW on the head-end and an ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU. This train was pulling into the siding here, where it would wait and eventually meet three northbounds.
After many years, I've finally been able to record the last unrecorded CSX crossing in Talladega. As you can see, this crossing is a pretty nice one. I'd long suspected there was a GS Type 1 here, so I'm glad I was finally able to confirm such. It's also one of the last three incandescent crossings on the CSX Lineville Sub in Talladega (though, admittedly, one of those is just "near" Talladega), so I'm glad to see it's still incandescent.
The signals here were installed by CSX back in the late-90s, it appears, and haven't changed too much since they were installed. In the 2010s, CSX replaced the bell on the closer signal with the current NEG e-bell, which remains the only major change to these signals since they were first installed. Hopefully no more major changes occur here for a while yet, but either way, I'm glad I finally got this crossing recorded.
