Using this FreeBSD firewall router and much more we will explore many of the basic LAN services needed for a LAN to connect to the internet edge. We will look at the subnet, DHCP server, and DNS resolver. I will present a step-by-step on configuring your first firewall ruleset. We will look at the greatest enemy of your firewall and why IDS/IPS and application firewalls improve your safety.
