In this video I compare the video quality of the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 Edition and the Insta360 ONE X2 and determine which delivers the better results.
In order to create a fair comparison, I made the following settings:
• I installed the latest firmware on both cameras
• I set the resolutions to 6K @ 25fps on the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 Edition + Sharpening to Medium
• 5.7K @ 25fps on the Insta360 ONE X2
• On both cameras I used the Auto exposure & Auto white balance mode + the vivid color profile.
All the comparison videos you see now, are taken RAW out of the Cameras. I have not made any color adjustments or sharpening. I just used the Reframe Plugin in Adobe Premiere to display defined sections of the recorded 360 videos.
The first Shot is a standard video, where I walked around slowly. You can notice a slight difference in the colors and details. Because of the larger 1 inch sensor, the Insta360 ONE RS has an advantage here.
The static Shot shows very well that the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 Edition has clear advantages over the Insta360 ONE X2, especially in the details. When you zoom in, the difference becomes even more obvious. The higher 6K resolution and the large 1-inch sensors are clearly convincing here.
There is another example with the same result.
In a complex environment, the differences are also visible.
And in poor lighting conditions, the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 Edition also benefits from the large sensors.
In summary the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 Edition provides a better image than the Insta360 ONE X2. But you have to keep in mind that both cameras target different users in the market. The Insta360 ONE RS is designed specifically for the pro-consumer market. The Insta360 ONE X2 is smaller and lighter and is suitable for action and adventure Shots.
