Digital communication will be the future, although many analogue sensors are still installed today. But how exactly will the communication between sensor and control level look like?
Over the last decade, IO-Link has been established as a digital standard for sensors, mainly because it makes installation easy and uses a simple point-to-point communication. But will it be possible in the future to integrate sensors directly into a network structure? Which standards are possible and which requirements would systems have to fulfill? SPE is actually often discussed as technology to bring Ethernet communication down to field level, but is that the last word in wisdom? And does this even make sense for the automation of machines and plants?
We will answer these and other questions live at our panel discussion on May 12 at 11:00 am. Be there when Frank Nolte asks the experts in sensor and communication technology Ralf Moebus, Wolfgang Wiedmann and Peter Wienzek about the trends and technologies of the future.
