From the stratosphere, Sunrise III will capture unique data from the Sun. The last phase of the preparations has begun.
In the summer of 2022, the balloon-borne solar observatory Sunrise III will study the Sun from the stratosphere. The six-meter-high gondola carries a solar telescope, three scientific instruments and an image stabilization system. In cleanrooms and laboratories, preparations for the flight have been underway for more than four years. The hardware has now arrived at its launch site Esrange Space Center at the Polar Circle. The last part of the adventure has begun. Read more about the current status of the Sunrise III mission here: https://www.mps.mpg.de/first-rays-of-sunlight-for-sunrise-iii-at-the-arctic-circle
