The two-step verification feature in Gmail added more security to your Gmail account. If 2 step verification of Gmail is ON then you need a special code to sign in. Let’s see, how to set up 2 step verification in Gmail.
1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Type myaccount.google.com in the address bar, and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Go to Google Account button at the top right.
4. Enter your registered Gmail ID in the text field, and click on the Next button.
5. Enter your password, and click on the Next button.
6. Click on the Security menu on the left side panel.
7. Scroll down the page to the Signing in to Google section.
8. Click on the 2-step Verification option.
9. Click on the Get started button.
10. You need to enter your password to verify it, and then click on the Next button.
11. Select an option, how do you want to get codes.
12. Like here, I have selected Text message, and type your phone number in the input field of what phone number do you want to use.
13. Click on the Next button.
14. You will receive a code on your phone, enter that code in the text field.
15. Click on the Next button.
16. In the last step, click on the Turn On text link.
17. You will see that the 2-Step verification feature has been enabled on your Gmail account.
