You may have seen a merged cells box somewhere in Microsoft Excel. If you want to merge cells to create data blocks in Excel then this video will surely help you. In this video, we will see some different methods to merge the cells in excel. Let’s see these steps.
1. Open Microsoft Excel.
2. Press the Control + N keys on your keyboard to create a blank workbook.
3. Select some cells, like here I am selecting cells of columns B and C with two rows.
4. In the ribbon at the top and in the Home tab, click on the Merge & Center. This will merge your selected cells.
5. Let’s try another method.
6. Select some new cells here I am selecting the cells of columns B, C, D, and E in row 5.
7. Right-click on the selected cells, and click on the Format Cells option from the drop-down list.
8. Click on the Alignment tab and in the Text control section, select the checkbox of Merge cells.
9. After selecting the checkbox, click on the OK button.
10. This will merge the selected cells.
11. If you want to repeat the same merged cells pattern, then select the merged cells.
12. Press the Control + C command on your keyboard.
13. Now, select another cell where you want to use the merged cells pattern, and then press the Control + V keys on your keyboard.
14. This will repeat the same merged cell pattern.
15. Let’s fill some background color in the merged cells so that they can be clearly visible.
