Honor has presented the Play 30 in China, a seemingly budget smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset. For reference, Qualcomm integrates two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores in the Snapdragon 480 Plus, along with six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores that can reach 2.2 GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively. Additionally, the 5G chipset contains the Adreno 619.
Separately, Honor equips the Play 30 with a 5,000 mAh battery that the device can recharge at 10 W via its USB Type-C port. Like many cheaper handsets, the Play 30 relies on an IPS display. The Play 30's display measures 6.5-inches across and offers a 1,600 x 720-pixel native resolution. Moreover, Honor has included a 13 MP rear-facing camera, complemented by a 5 MP front-facing sensor that sits behind a waterdrop notch.
Honor has introduced the Play 30 as coming with 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 GB of expandable storage. Moreover, the handset has dual-SIM connectivity but ships with Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11, not the newer Magic UI 6.0 with Android 12. It has shown the handset in black, blue, gold and white colourways.
