One of these Midea manufactured (Hampton Bay branded when purchased at the The Home Depot) fans I've been using started to develop a ratting sound. I figured the bearings were spoiling, but it seemed like they didn't last anywhere near as long as would have been reasonable. Some further investigation revealed the issue was nothing more than the blade coming loose from the shaft.
