COLOMBIA’S FUTURE IS ON THE UP
Medellín is a pioneer in this area, paving the way for a new urban mobility model when it incorporated its gondola into its public transport network in 2004: a world first! MetroCable has set the benchmark for the world. With 5 lines in service capable of transporting 220,000 passengers per day over 14 kilometres of cable lines, MetroCable has now added a 6th line – Line “P”, the world’s first 12-seater urban gondola. Inaugurated on 10 June 2021, today it transports 4,000 people per hour to the city centre thanks to its connection with the metro via a multimodal station that allows it to use the long-established Line K.
The cabins and stations were made in France, at POMA group industrial facilities. The pylons were made in Colombia and installed in Medellín in close cooperation with POMA Colombia, the local subsidiary created by POMA that provides trustworthy support to MetroMedellín in operating
and maintaining the system..

LA COLOMBIE PENSE SON AVENIR DANS LES AIRS
Pionnière, Medellin a donné le ton d’un nouveau modèle de mobilité urbaine, en intégrant dès 2004 une télécabine à son réseau de transport public : une première mondiale ! Référence internationale avec 5 lignes en service, capable d’accueillir près de 220 000 passagers par jour sur 14 kilomètres de lignes, le MetroCable s’étoffe aujourd’hui d’une 6ème ligne : la ligne "P", première télécabine 12 places urbaine au monde, inaugurée le 10 juin 2021, elle transporte désormais 4 000 personnes par heure jusqu’au centre de la ville grâce à sa connexion avec le métro via une gare multimodale qui permet également d’emprunter la ligne historique K.
Les cabines et les stations ont été fabriquées en France, sur le site industriel du groupe POMA. Les pylônes ont été réalisés en Colombie et le montage effectué à Medellin, en étroite collaboration avec « POMA Colombia », la filiale locale crée par POMA, qui accompagne fidèlement le MetroMedellin dans l’exploitation et la maintenance du système.
