In this video, Alister Christie demonstrates how to embed the free InterBase IBLite in a mobile device and use it to connect to a remote InterBase database.
IBLite is the free embeddable version of InterBase and is a great choice for mobile development. In this exciting episode, Alister builds an Android application that uses IBLite to talk to a local and a remote database. IBLite’s ability to act as a client for a remote database is a big advantage over using SQLite as it makes it very fast and easy to build cross-platform enterprise-type applications with a centralized database.
