There are a couple of things to double check, when commissioning a pump in a hydronic distribution system. Let’s consider a typical example of a variable flow system, with two port throttling valves:
First of all, you need to discover the correct pump setting, for the 100% load condition, when all terminal unites are open and they request 100% flow. In this condition, if the pump is properly designed, it should run at 80 to 100% capacity.
