Drying (point) bell peppers in a food dryer: demo and electricity costs

Please read the textbox/description first. In April 2022 I bought a food dryer, the brand and type was Turbo Tronic FD 14. I found that it worked very good. Price was approx. 70 Euro in the Netherlands.

Here I show that I am drying 500 gram of bell peppers (“point bell pepper”, in Dutch it is called “puntpaprika”). I say "sliding" the paprika, but I mean of course "slicing". Sorry for that.

By the way: I don’t have any (!) relation to the manufacturer of this drying machine. I only want to show (a) how it works and (b) that it works good for say a small household and (c) how much energy (Watts/Kilowatts) it takes to dry a (moist) product to the status of “kind of dust/grain” (herbs) or “small dry grains” (this bell pepper) that can be stored for a long time.

I also found that these dried grains of bell peppers still taste perfect and can be used in soups and sauces, where they pick up the moisture again and swell to approx. the normal or (say) good size.

My first tests (April 2022) revealed that it takes 6 hours on 70 Degrees Celsius to dry 1 bell pepper and ½ a cup of Champignons with this food dryer and that that costed 1 Kilowatt. Though today: with 1 Kilowatt electric energy I could dry 500 grams of Bell Pepers to dry grains. 2 june 2022.

One Kilowatt in the Netherlands always (up until Feb. 2022, before the Oekraine war started) costed approx. 25 Eurocents, but due to the situation in the Oekraïne (since 24 Feb. 2022) the energy prices in Europe have raised substantially.

So sometimes (depending on your energy contract in Europe) 1 Kilowatt Hour can cost 60 Euro cents.

Has also everything to do with the boycott program of the European Union, to strafe Russia regarding its war in the Oekraïne. So the Dutch citizens feel the effects of this EU policy.

Search there, and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc. Some persons try to find gold via my circuits. I take distance from all these fake claims. I cannot help that these things happen. Upload 2 June 2022.
