Dave Sterling: Combat Veteran and Woodturner | Customer Stories

Meet Dave Sterling: medically retired United States combat veteran and owner to Iron Hand Woodworks. Serving in the Army, he was wounded in the Iraq war when a grenade hit the tank he was in. He later that year left the Army as a sergeant and was given a Purple Heart for his heroic actions in the war. He decided to apply for a program called VetsTurn, aimed to assist veterans in managing their PTSD with woodturning. Since then, woodworking has become a consistency for Dave, allowing him to showcase his creativity while crafting artisan bowls and other projects.

A special thank you to David Sterling for sharing his incredible story, and to all those who have served and continue to serve today. Your bravery is inspiring to us all.

Thank you to Paul Mayer for running the incredible VetsTurn program.
