Massive solar storm emerging from a hole in the Sun will hit Earth on Wednesday. NASA says the sun is getting very active and that could cause problems on Earth. The space agency warns the activity level of our solar system's main star has quickly ramped up. They say the solar cycle is not at its peak and it is already exceeding expectations. Scientists expect to see more solar flares and solar eruptions, which could impact radio communications, navigation signals and electric power grids on earth. The increase in activity also could pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts, impact GPS signals and even create concerns about flight crew and passenger health on airplanes. NASA predicts the solar events will continue to increase from now into 2025. The peak of the solar cycle is expected in 2025. Solar debris can take up to 18 hours to reach the Earth. The expected impact of the storm will be minimal.
