Cutoff Road Railroad Crossing, Havana, FL

*originally recorded on 3-28-22*

Signal on the left (knocked down, non-functional?): 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights and a WCH mechanical bell.

This was the fourth crossing I caught TA-Local at. Due to the knocked-down signal, the train had to be stopped and flagged by the conductor, who I chatted with briefly as the train got here.

This crossing, despite the knocked-down signal, is another fairly nice one. It appears that the signals here were originally installed by the SBD back in the 1980s, and the closer signal is still pretty much entirely original. The bell on it does sound a bit rough, but is still sounds fairly decent overall, thankfully.
The far signal apparently has gotten struck several times since the first one was installed in the 1980s, however. The current one appears to have been put-up by CSX in the early 2000s, but at some point in the 2010s, the original Safetran base on it got replaced with a WCH one. Of course, when I was here, it'd just been struck again and was awaiting replacement.
The relay case here also appears to have been replaced a few times, as, back in 2007, street view shows an older CSX case from the 80s or 90s, likely replacing the original SBD one. By 2011, however, the relay case had been replaced again, with the current one made by PTMW. Hopefully the closer signal remains unchanged for many more years to come.
