Brasher Road Railroad Crossing (West Side), Columbus, AL

*originally recorded on 5-14-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the far right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs.
Signal on the near right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After catching I029, I hung around a bit (partially unintentionally) and soon heard another horn coming from my north, so I quickly set-up on the west side of the crossing. The train turned-out to be Q523 heading south with a nice pair of YN2 AC44CWs for power, what was easily my best catch of the day. Certainly glad I stuck around long enough to see this, TBH.

CSX had finally installed the new signals here sometime recently when I came down to this crossing in mid-May. Like I suspected, they installed an extra gateless signal for visibility purposes here, so each of the three crossbucks that had been at this crossing were all replaced with a signal. Might see about returning here at some point to get another video on the opposite side in better lighting, as I always like seeing auxiliary signals like that.
