Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a WRRS mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
After catching TA-West in Quincy, I quickly raced on up to this crossing just west of Mt. Pleasant, as I wanted to get it recorded and I thought that, with how short the train was, I'd be just able to beat it here. And thankfully, I was correct as I got here and got set-up with just a few minutes to spare before the crossing activated.
The crossing here is another rather nice one. These signals, like at the previous crossing, are another 1990s CSX install that's pretty much still almost entirely original. However, a bit unusually, rather than a 2nd Gen WCH mechanical bell here, CSX chose to re-use a WRRS bell on these signals! Believe this bell came from an SCL install somewhere, though I'm not sure if it came from an old SCL install that had been at this crossing, or another crossing along the Tallahassee Sub. Either way, I'm glad to see another WRRS bell heere, and I'm glad to see that it's still rather healthy sounding as well.
Honestly, this crossing kinda reminds me of some that @GMF Train Videos has recorded up on the CSX Monon Sub in Indiana, as, IIRC, they've visited a few crossings on that line that feature 90s CSX installs with WRRS bells like this. However, it should be noted that the WRRS bells on those crossings would be of L&N heritage, while this WRRS bell I believe is of SCL heritage.
Also, y'all should go check out their videos, they make some really good ones and have shot some really cool crossings up there in Indiana.
