NASA’s first SLS rocket rolled out for launch earlier this week at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, ahead of an Aug 29 launch attempt on the Artemis-1 mission. The launch will debut the world’s most powerful rocket, standing taller than the Statue of Liberty, which will unleash nearly 9 million lbs of thrust (15% more than the Apollo Saturn V) to send an Orion spacecraft on a month-long uncrewed flight test to and from the moon.
NASA will put the first crew on Artemis-2, and intend to land the first crew back on the moon on Artemis-3.
