After chasing B824, we started heading back towards Clanton to try and get at least one more crossing recorded on the S&NA South before it got too dark. Thankfully, it turned-out CSX M521 had been working Longview and had just finished-up as we were leaving Alabaster (despite us stopping to document another crossing upgrade and use the bathroom/buy food/get gas), so I decided we'd chase it down. Amazingly enough, we were getting ahead of it as we were going into Calera, so I decided to try to see if we could get it here. Thankfully, we were able to beat it and get set-up with only a handful of seconds to spare, and here we see M521 come through with an AC44CW leading a KCS ES44AC! Certainly a nice catch for what would be our last train of the day (though this wasn't our last video of the day).
As you can see, there have also been no major changes to this crossing since I last filmed it earlier this year, which I'm quite glad to see. This is honestly probably one of my favorite crossings on the S&NA South, especially since it still features old gated TPC signals and a mechanical bell, so I always enjoy filming it when I get the chance.
