After catching TA-West in Quincy, I decided to head on back to this crossing to get them one final time, mainly because I felt that I wanted to get a better video of this crossing. On the way here, however, TA-West stopped at the quarry in Midway and picked-up a cut of cars from there, before continuing back to the yard in Tallahassee. As such, we see them one final time here, with the GP38s hauling a short train, and I was finally able to get a video of this crossing I can definitely say I was happy with.
Unfortunately, this would also be the last time I was able to catch the FGAR on this trip. The following morning, I got on up and got out to try and get TA-East leaving Tallahassee. I was hearing something in the yard, so I thought I was lucky and TA-East was about to be leaving, but it turned-out to be TA-Local and that TA-East was already long gone.
As such, I decided to try and head over to the P&A Sub to see if I could get PA-East around Bonifay and Chipley. On my way out, however, I started hearing something near Quincy, so I hopped off of I-10 and went up there to see what was up. It turned out that TA-Local, having apparently not run on the 31st, was doing their run to Quincy on April 1st instead. Unfortunately, I was able to determine they were working the customers near Shelfer Street, which meant they had likely already done their work on the branch for the day, so I decided just to hop back onto I-10 and head to Bonifay.
Once I got out to Bonifay, I waited a few hours, only for PA-East not to show. As such, I figured PA-East wasn't running on that day, or at the very least they wouldn't be running to Chipley, and decided to head back to Quincy and wait for TA-West there to see if I could at least get a better video of Barack Obama Boulevard, given that I wasn't able to record it deactivating. Unfortunately for me as well, after a while of waiting there again, it turned-out that TA-West wasn't running that evening either. As such, I returned back to the hotel empty handed, and rather disappointed in both that and that I wasted a bunch of gas for essentially nothing.
Unfortunately, despite not leaving Tallahassee until the 3rd, April 1st was also the last chance I had at shooting the FGAR on this trip, as that was a Friday and the FGAR doesn't (usually) run on weekends. Thankfully, I'd already planned for this and had already planned on heading up to the Dothan Sub the following day, since I wanted to check-up on the line for any upgrades. And, well, all that I'm gonna say is that what I got on the Dothan Sub more than made-up for the disappointment that was the 1st, but y'all'll have to wait a bit longer to be able to see that stuff...
And, TBH, this wasn't a bad crossing to end the FGAR off with either, given the variety of equipment here and especially the FS bell and lights.
