Last night held the potential for a major meteor shower, as Earth's orbit causes it to pass through the trail of debris left by the disintegrating comet 73P/SchwassmannβWachmann. From about 11 PM Eastern until morning, I set up my camera to take a sequence of 15-second exposures. The sky was mostly free of clouds, but the seeing here in Charlotte, NC is pretty terrible due to light pollution. I caught at least a couple of small meteor streaks, some airplanes, and a strange cluster of green lights that was probably also an airplane (I'll take a closer look at the original photos later). It's not much, but here it is!
