45th Street Railroad Crossing, Fort Payne, AL

*originally recorded on 3-5-22*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

On March 5th, I went down to Fort Payne to see about finishing-out the AGS North District. Got the last two crossings documented there that I needed to get and then went up here to wait for a train. Unfortunately, I found out I'd just missed two southbound mixed freights, so that was a bit disappointing. Eventually, after several hours of waiting, this NS 130 (IIRC) came rolling through with an AC44C6M leading a Dash-9 and an ES44DC.

As you can see, no major changes had occurred to this crossing since my last video of it, thankfully. My main goal for this video was to try and get a video in better lighting on this side, and while I kinda succeeded, the sun was just barely on the other side still so I'll see about returning here before too long and filming it again. Don't mind too much though, TBH, as I do think this is a rather great crossing to be at. Plus, NS will probably eventually replace the signals here, so I might as well shoot them as much as I can while it's still got nice stuff. Definitely gotta be my favorite crossing on the AGS North, however.
